I was playing Counter-Strike today (1.6 if you must know) and I had been getting really annoyed with people misusing words or ‘abbreviating’ them for no apparent reason.
The final straw was:
[IRTehHax0r] rush left and decimate them
[JaJa_UK] You mean kill one in ten?
[IRTehHax0r] No, decimate means to kill ALL of them nub
[JaJa_UK] No, you mean annihilate. Decimate means 1 in 10, hence Deci
[IRTehHax0r] STFU NUB, I MEAN DECIMATE
This then resulted in some friendly stab.
We won the round, but I fear more people will misuse the word decimate in future.
